My first house buying experiences...

Hey all!

I just want to write a blog about our first house buying experience!

I want to share with you something important I learned!

A few weeks after we moved into our home we got our first bill from our bank, stating exactly a month after we bought out first payment was due... I was expecting that but what I wasn't expecting was the letter that came with it... It was a offer to split our payment into bi weekly payments, which sounded wonderful... I really liked the idea... Well I am so thankful my Husband is very smart! He read the fine print...Turns out that it was a 3rd party vendor that wanted to collect bi weekly payments, on our behalf, and collect the interest on the money while it is in there possession!!! Plus they charge fees in addition to that!
Anyways he figured out that if we were to save half our house payment, by putting it into a savings account, like the bi-weekly plan, we would end up with an extra payment (like the bi-weekly vendor) at the end of the year... Score! Plus earn a little on interest not much cause we are dirt poor! lol

So just stay away from those bi-weekly offers!

We had a good experience all and all in buying a  house... We took the first time home buyer class... We ended up, using a conventional loan, because we bought a fixer, but we were able to get help from a snap program through the class as well... Took from April until July but we made it! We had a wonderful Realtor, he was Amazing! If you are ever wanting to buy in Eastern Washington Warren Schick is the guy to know! The hardest part is the waiting... Expect a lot of delays and it to take a bit of time... In the end it was well worth it!
